Oakura Bay, Waiheke Island

This beautiful wedding which was held at a private property on Oakura Bay was a perfect example of just how good a Waiheke summer’s day can be. MaryScot and Alex’s wedding actually marked the end of a lovely stay on the island for me where I had three weddings in a row, and was staying in a beautiful belle tent on a friends property. I called it the ‘sweaty wedding weekend’ as not only was the glamping tent hot, but the island put on such incredible weather the whole time – beautiful sunshine, sparkling waters, and picture perfect sunsets every night. MaryScot and Alex’s day was treated to all of these island delights as well. This lovely duo were so warm and welcoming right from our first conversation across the globe, it was a pretty special way to spend the last night on the island with them and all their friends and family. They put on a beautiful ceremony right on the beach, and the whole day was styled incredibly by the lovely Sophia of My Waiheke. It was a picture-perfect day on the island, which always feels like such a treat when most of the guests have flown in from overseas for the occasion. And to top it all off, there was the most stunning sunset that evening that Oakura bay just lapped up, as did all their guests.
